HIV Matters Trailer

Since the start of the HIV epidemic care has focused on quality of life, in the early days this was in part due to the limited treatment options available for people living with HIV alongside a strong humanistic desire to provide optimum care. Advances in HIV care has led to HIV care having more of a medical focus with national and international targets focusing on the prevention of new infections. Despite advances in medical treatment the impact of being diagnosed and living with the HIV, has a significant impact for many people, across all aspects of their life. Factors that impact on health-related quality of life for people living with HIV are often poorly understood and explored in health care settings.

The podcast will explore the current issues people living with HIV experience that impact on their quality of life. The podcast aims to provide educational content and discussions with key leaders in HIV care in the UK, Europe and America. Some of which I have had the pleasure of working with throughout my career.
